We have salvaged some of the redwood logs left on the forest floor when our old-growth forest was harvested in the 1960's.   (These old logs are called "buckskins".)  We have limited quantities of this exquisite wood in the form of custom cut lumber - cut to your specifications.  

Dimensions range from one-half-inch thick moulding stock up to twelve by twelve timbers. We also cut slabs up to four inches thick and as wide as forty inches.

Our clear heart vertical grain boards can be cut in widths up to sixteen inches.

Prices range from $2.50 to $14.00 per board foot depending on the grade and size.

Inventory is usually on hand.

Please note: We will mill logs for local people in Sonoma and Mendocino Counties. We will do it for a percentage of the wood and no money changes hands. We will do this as along as the log(s) was from salvage work or was from a tree that blew over in a storm. We do not do milling trades from logging operations or other harvesting operations.

The old-growth lumber is all heartwood. It is available kiln-dried or green from a recently re sawed salvage log. The two photos below show the range of quality from clear vertical grain to tight-grained con-heart with large knots. Tight-grained old-growth is hard to find because of over cutting in the past and today's common practice of harvesting most trees while still relatively young.
